Our canyons in Utah are bursting with fall colors!  The trails in Millcreek Canyon were a beautiful show of reds, oranges, yellows and greens over the last few weeks and they make an incredible backdrop for fall portrait sessions.

Maren's session was scheduled on a great sunny October afternoon.  I loved the color of her jacket and I think it was a perfect compliment to the fall leaves!  Isn't it to die for?  Unfortunately, it was a boutique find in Colorado... not available here, oh yes, I asked!

I really had fun on this session -- Maren is such a sweet person, and didn't mind hiking around to find these beautiful leaves, grasses & light.  I absolutely love these pictures!  They really remind me of why Bill and I moved to Utah.  It's beautiful here!

Thank you Maren for a great session!

In July, I had the opportunity to shoot a family reunion for a wonderful family coming together from all over the USA.  They hold a reunion every 5 years, and this year there were just under 50 family members in attendance at the Glenwild Country Club in Park City, UT.

This family was warm, kind, friendly, funny, and full of love.  I had a great time capturing memories for them, and was moved by their caring for one another.  They were also celebrating an important milestone... the 60th wedding anniversary of the sweetest couple, Joe & Jean...complete with a replica of their wedding cake!

The children were adorable, and I loved getting to take their pictures as they hung out with their families and wandered the beautiful grounds.  This shoot gave me the chance to do what I love, and that is candid, relaxed photos in natural light.  Thank you Taylor Family!

Going to Jessica Claire's workshop in September was such an incredible experience for me.  When I saw on her website www.jessicaclaire.net  that she was going to hold her first ever workshop, I knew that I HAD to go.  Who better to learn from than someone who's work I admire the most!  I think Jessica's images are incredible and she is bursting with talent, skill, and style!

I got up at the crack of dawn and flew to Long Beach, rented a car, and survived the stop & go freeway drive to Jessica's studio in Ladera Ranch.  Entering her studio, I was greeted by Jessica herself and a room full of talented & friendly photographers from across the USA!  We spent the day learning from Jessica on many important aspects of the photography business, and were treated to a mock wedding shoot set up for the workshop that was so beautiful, we couldn't believe the details!  If the Anthroplogie store could be translated into a wedding, this was it!  The day ended with a delicious pasta dinner with Jessica & Jeff in their home, complete with brownies & ice cream!

The shoot started with the bride getting ready in a fabulous yellow bedroom that any girl would love, and then we went onsite to the Riley Wilderness Park for the mock wedding.  It was surreal to be standing side by side with Jessica Claire shooting this gorgeous bride & groom, and having her answer my questions and give her opinions and tips.

If you ever have the opportunity to take a workshop from Jessica Claire... TAKE IT!  You will love it!  Jessica, I am so grateful for your encouraging, friendly and kind attitude.  Thank you for a wonderful day and everything you did for us!

Isn't Lisa a stunning bride?  We had a blast wandering the gorgeous grounds of La Caille taking her bridal portraits, dodging peacocks.

I ran a vintage action on this photo just for kicks and Lisa LOVED it!  We blew it up into a 16x20 canvas gallery wrap to display at her wedding, and she is so excited to hang it in their home.  Doesn't she look like she is in Savannah, Ga?  I know!  Love it!

I love this one!  Gorgeous, happy bride to be... beautiful fountain... and a peek of the mountains in the distance!

I had the incredible opportunity to attend Jessica Claire's first workshop at her studio in Ladera Ranch, CA. Jessica is as friendly & kind as she is talented. I highly recommend her workshop...

I learned so much from her and cannot wait to apply what I've learned to my business! Our class had a really fun day, and I loved meeting so many great photographers from around the U.S.A.!

More pictures coming...
